Small-business guides

How much does a promo film cost for a small business?

What a promo film costs, what moves the price, and when one filming day with several short clips is the better buy for a small business.

The short answer

Our prices: Social media shoot €1,190, Filming day €1,990, Promo film from €3,990, Campaign film from €7,900.

The price follows the filming days, not the minutes. A one to two minute promo film usually needs one filming day, planning and editing. Travel, locations, actors and licences are often extra. On a small budget, several short clips from one filming day are often the better buy.

  1. Filming days set the price
  2. Ask about extras up front
  3. Short clips or one film

What moves the price of a promo film

Four things drive the price: the number of filming days, the size of the crew, the length of the finished film and the editing work. A film with three locations over two days costs more than the same film in one room on one day.

Every extra version counts too. A vertical cut for Instagram or a shorter version for your website is editing work. Ask which versions the price includes.

What does a promo film cost per minute?

The minute is the wrong unit. The shoot takes as long whether the film runs 60 or 120 seconds. Only the editing grows a little. That is why no honest price per minute exists.

Our promo film covers one filming day and a main film of 60 to 120 seconds. We agree shorter versions beforehand. For films of two or three minutes, several filming days or a campaign film, we write a separate quote. The prices are in the overview further down.

What is often not in the price

Check the quote for these items: travel and overnight stays, location fees, actors or voice-over, and licences for music or images. If one is missing, it gets added later.

A second filming day or an extra version is only included if the quote names it. We put that in writing first.

When short clips are the better buy

A promo film pays off when it stays in use for a long time: on your website, at trade fairs or in sales conversations. On Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, what matters is that something new appears regularly.

Two smaller packages cover that. The social media shoot is up to 4 hours of filming and 3 short vertical clips. The filming day is a full day, 5 to 8 short clips and selected still images. Both cost less than the promo film and give you more separate videos.

Compare quotes and prepare the shoot

A filming day stays one day when you are prepared. Decide beforehand who appears on camera, which rooms are shown and who makes decisions. Fewer locations mean less travelling and waiting.

Send every provider the same description and ask the same questions.

  • How many filming days and how many people are on the crew?
  • How long is the finished film, and which versions are included?
  • Are travel, locations, actors and licences in the price?
  • How many rounds of changes follow the first edit?
  • Who owns the raw files and the finished film?

Your checklist

  • Write down where the film will run.
  • Decide who appears on camera.
  • Choose two locations at most.
  • Ask about travel, locations, actors and licences.
  • Decide whether one film or several short clips fit better.

Your next step

Compare the packages in the price overview and send us your description. You get a written quote first.
